Amtrak service to resume with limitations, full service expected by Saturday
Some relief for commuters as certain Amtrak routes resume service today.
The Empire Line services had faced suspensions due to "structural concerns" along the route from New York City to Croton-Harmon.
The discovery of substantial holes in the ground of a parking garage above the tracks in New York City prompted these suspensions.
Amtrak announced that full service from NYC to Albany will be restored on one track, with both tracks anticipated to reopen by Saturday.
