New York's Assembly Judiciary Committee, which is considering whether to initiate impeachment proceedings against Gov. Andrew Cuomo, just said its investigation is nearly complete.
A new letter sent to Cuomo's counsel said the committee "will soon consider potential articles of impeachment."
The committee is giving Cuomo's attorney until Aug. 13, which is next Friday, to provide any additional evidence or written submissions.
If Cuomo resigns or is removed from office by impeachment, Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul would fill the remainder of his term, which runs until the end of 2022.
