The Bedford Hills Fire Department has been awarded a grant that will help them save lives when battling fires.
Officials say the department has received a $4,600 grant from Stayin Alive, an organization that collects money to support first responder agencies in Northern Westchester.
The department says the money will help offset the cost of purchasing four new adjustable flow nozzles, which they say will allow them to better protect residents.
This is the department's sixth consecutive year receiving a Stayin Alive charity grant. In previous years, officials have purchased thermal imaging cameras, which help them locate a fire, AED's and protective gear and other equipment.
