Billions of cicadas from Brood 14 are expected to emerge across a dozen East Coast states this spring, according to entomologists.
The second-largest cicada brood, which surfaces every 17 years, will crawl out when soil temperatures hit 64 degrees.
The last emergence occurred in 2008. The noisy insects will fill the air with their distinctive buzzing, which attracts mates.
