Dress in layers and limit time outdoors! This is a type of extreme cold that we do not often experience in the lower Hudson Valley, even during this coldest time of year. It is dangerous if you are spending extended time outdoors or not dressing in layers and covering up from head to toe. There is not even too much wind and feels like well below zero at times! Please use caution and also watch out for some patchy areas of black ice still lingering from last Sunday's snow.
Besides the extreme cold, dry weather continues. It will be mostly sunny today with some more clouds around tomorrow. While it will stay below freezing tomorrow through Saturday, you will notice slight improvements in how it feels each day during the daylight hours. You should still dress in layers and use caution through Saturday despite temperatures returning to around 30 degrees.
It is not until Sunday that more seasonable temperatures return with highs around 38 degrees. While there is a slight chance for a passing flurry on Sunday and a few mixed snow and rain showers on Monday, it is trending drier for those days and there is a chance that both days will stay completely dry. Temperatures will stay in the mid to upper 30s for most of next week.
