A 6-year-old boy is doing well after falling 20 feet onto a concrete floor at Birchas Yosef Temple in Monsey.
Three hundred people were in the congregation Friday night when the boy fell. Authorities say the Hatzoloh Ambulance Corp. responded to the scene. Monsey's fire chief says his department, and the Ramapo police were not called, which is part of Rockland County protocol.
The executive director of Hatzoloh Ambulance says crews did not notify the Ramapo Police Department because they had three emergency calls at the same time and the dispatcher made an oversight.
Ramapo police say the little boy has been released from the hospital and is doing fine. Rockland County's EMS coordinator says she'll be meeting with officials from Hatzoloh to discuss the incident.
