The Red Cross and the Bronx community are working with more than 20 of the families impacted by the deadly fire by providing them food and a place to stay.

Many of them were given shelter Sunday inside the Bronx's P.S. 391, which is just steps from the scene. A massive showing of support has been given from the community to those affected by the fire. Inside the school, hot food and essentials were given to the families. There were also people on hand helping those impacted find long-term housing arrangements.

P.S. 391 was open today with grief counselors on hand as well. 

Shanequa Charles, the executive director of non-profit Miss Abbie's Kids, tells News 12 she's trying to help coordinate food and shelter options. She says she's also trying to raise money for burial arrangements for those lost.

A NYC Service Center is open for affected residents at Monroe College's Ustin Hall on 2375 Jerome Ave. from until 8 p.m. Families in need can also contact the Red Cross at 1-877-Red-Cross (1-877-733-2767).
