There is shock and sadness. In Rockland County, two young boys were killed over the weekend along with their mother and detectives say it appears their father, a Bronxville police sergeant killed them before killing himself. Our Ben Nandi joins us from the scene with more. I'm back here at Clydesdale Court in New City. This is the home where the bodies of the mother, the father and the two Children were found and these two young boys had a lot of friends around here. You can tell by the way, this makeshift memorial is growing by the mailbox and another one just over here, the basketball goal which is just heartbreaking school officials say they're going to do everything they can to help their friends get through this. They're booking counselors to help them when they come back to school tomorrow. Clarkstown police say 49 year old sergeant Watson Morgan shot his 43 year old wife Ornella, his two sons and then himself. Bronxville. Police say Morgan didn't show up for work on Friday evening. Then they asked Clarkstown PD to do a welfare check. Clarkstown officers showed up at 1220 Saturday morning. They say that's when they found all four members of the family dead of gunshot wounds. A gun was found inside the Bronxville mayor and police chief say, Sergeant Morgan joined the NYPD in 2000. Then came to Bronxville in 2007 and was promoted to sergeant in 2016. The Clarkstown school superintendent put out a note to parents. They are going to have mental health professionals at the school tomorrow for Children to talk to the superintendent says to parents quote, we encourage you to talk with your child as death impacts each of us in different ways. He says, sadness, fear, anger are all normal parts of the grieving process and they wanna help students with that. Ben Nandy News 12.

And new developments tonight. In a story we've been following for you since it broke a local community is trying to cope with the loss of a family killed in a murder suicide. Over the weekend news twelve's Diane Caruso takes us to the scene of the tragedy where a growing memorial now stands. Pictures of smiles and hugs are part of this growing memorial outside of 10 Clydesdale Court in New City. The home where 43 year old Ornella Morgan, her two sons now identified as 10 year old Liam and 12 year old Gabriel were shot and killed by dad and husband. 49 year old Watson, a sergeant with Bronx opd before he turned the gun on himself. You know, I was just in shock. Dorothy Cunningham came here to pray. She was a religious teacher at nearby Saint Francis of Assisi, a church. The Morgan family were part of Gabriel was her student two years ago, just a really nice family. It's really sweet kids and a lot of there's gonna be a lot of um mending to do the church and the archdiocese will have counselors here to support the parish through this time. As you would imagine, this is the deepest sense of grief grieving that a school community could possibly have. Dr Mark Bacco is the superintendent for the Clarkstown school district where the others went. Liam was 1/5 grader at Laurel Plains Gabriel, 1/7 grader at Felix Festa. There were counselors at schools helping people. Dr Bacco says the boys were in boy scouts and played sports. The parents were very involved too as a community works to support each other. I feel like everyone should kind of band together and work as a team to get through it because obviously something like this is really tragic and you know, I want to be there for everybody if they need it and you should too. Miss Morgan taught at a school in the Bronx, a statement by the New York City Department of Education said, quote, this is an absolutely tragic loss for the entire community.

We turn now to a family of four who was found dead in New City in what appears to be a murder suicide news. Twelve's Diane Caruso joins us now with the very latest Diane Good evening. Well, Clarkstown police have been at this Clydesdale court home all day where a tragedy happened that's hitting communities on both sides of the Hudson river. This is Watson Morgan. Clarkstown. Police say the 49 year old Bronxville police officer is believed to have shot and killed his 43 year old wife, Ornella and two sons, 10 and 12 years old before turning the gun on himself in their new city home. Bronxville, police say that Morgan did not show up for his shift last night, which led Clarkstown officers to check in on Morgan and they found what happened. We've learned from Bronxville that Morgan began his law enforcement career with the NYPD in 2000 before joining Bronxville s force in 2007. He was with the Detective Division in 2014 and was promoted to sergeant in 2016. He was a youth officer and was expected to retire this March. Sources say his two boys attended Laurel Plains Elementary and Felix Festa Middle School in the Clark school district. Local leaders are reacting to the news of this apparent murder suicide county executive ed saying quote, I send my prayers and deepest condolences to family, friends and fellow officers of the victims along with the entire town of Clarkstown. While the Bronxville mayor and police chief released a joint statement saying, quote, our hearts go out to Sergeant Morgan's extended family. Our thoughts and prayers are also with his Bronxville Police Department family. Now Clarkstown central school district says there will be counselors at both Laurel Plains Elementary School and feel effect. Felix fa middle school from noon tomorrow to 3 p.m. for any students family and staff who need support with this incident as a community grapples with what happened. We will work to figure out what led to it. That's the latest in New City and so news 12.
