A Bronx man has been charged in connection with the death of a 64-year-old Sullivan County resident following a fatal collision in the Town of Crawford.

State police say that on Sept. 23, 2023, troopers responded to a two-car collision on Rt. 17K and the intersection of Youngblood Road.

Upon arrival, Gerald Filcher, 64, from Bloomingburg, the driver of a Toyota pickup truck, was discovered deceased due to the impact of the collision.

Investigations revealed that Marcos Medina, 34, from the Bronx, was operating a box truck traveling east on Route 17K when he veered into the opposite lane, resulting in the collision with Filcher's vehicle.

Following a seven-month investigation, authorities arrested Medina on charges of criminally negligent homicide.
