A Bronx woman says she’s still traumatized about a case of discrimination she experienced at a LongHorn Steakhouse in Yonkers.
Juwanna Kimble told News 12 she took her girlfriend to the restaurant for her birthday, but things turned sour when she went to use the restroom.
"Someone bangs on the door and they tell me to get out, it's the ladies' room,” she recalled.
Kimble -- who was born a woman and identifies as a woman – kept telling that to the employee who continued banging on the door. She said she accidentally urinated on herself, and then had to walk back to the front of the restaurant.
"This guest's experience was unacceptable,” a LongHorn Steakhouse spokesperson told News 12. “And a member of our leadership team has personally connected with them to apologize."
Kimble added she's since received an apology, a gift card, a refund and a promise of better training. She hopes the restaurant adds one more change -- a gender-neutral bathroom.
