A rifle round struck a home in Orange County, prompting a search for the person responsible.

Blooming Grove police say neighbors reported hearing gunshots Sunday afternoon near Moffat Road and Bull Road.

Investigators say a rifle bullet traveled through a glass door and into a nearby home.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Police searched the area but were unable to locate the shooter.

Authorities believe the round may have traveled a considerable distance before striking the house.
