Ferry Point residents are calling on the Department of Environmental Protection to find and resolve the problem that has been discoloring their drinking water.
Residents on Rohr Place say for the past several weeks, the water coming out of their faucets has ranged from tea color to rusty brown, preventing them from showering and brushing their teeth.
People have been forced to rely on bottled water for drinking. They have also been using neighbors' bathrooms.
JoAnn Sohmers, of the Ferry Point Civic Association, says she has received more than 20 complaints about the muddy water.
"I would like our water to be tested, and I would like our association to be notified and see the results of the test," Sohmers says.
According to a DEP representative, the discoloration of the water might have been caused by a faulty unmapped pipe running under the street.
