State police say a 17-year-old Minisink Valley student accused of killing his friend on Sunday and seriously injuring two other teens while driving intoxicated will not be identified due to his age - and say that the criminal charges against him are being handled in family court.
Jack Braun, 17, was killed in the early-morning crash in the Sullivan County town of Mamakating.
State police haven’t revealed what the surviving teens’ injuries are but a GoFundMe for one of the girls says she suffered a broken vertebra.
All four teens went to Minisink Valley High School.
The driver is charged with DWI, vehicular manslaughter and vehicular assault. Sources say the teens were drinking at a woods party before the crash. Police say where the teens were and how they obtained alcohol remains under investigation.
