Police in the Town of Cornwall are on the lookout for a thief who took off with a dirt bike after the owner confronted him mid-act.
The incident happened last Friday around 2 a.m., according to police.
The victim gave News 12 surveillance video of the incident, showing the thief taking a white 2024 Husqvarna 701 Supermoto from their home and walking with it down their driveway on Holloran Road.
The family says the $15,000 dirt bike was listed on Facebook Marketplace and that they showed it to two people before their garage was broken into while they slept.
Police say the victim heard the suspect breaking in and thwarted the theft of a second dirt bike. They say the thief got away with the Husqvarna dirt bike in a white minivan.
Anyone with information is asked to call Town of Cornwall police at 845-534-8100.
