NYPD body camera captured the moment when officers pulled over a driver for running a stop sign and then spotted a gun inside the car Thursday night in Unionport.

Detectives say it happened around 11:15 p.m. near East 177th St and Powell Avenue.

Police say they found a loaded firearm with magazines, additional ammunition and brass knuckles inside the car.

Police arrested the 27-year-old driver Jonah Nembard, of Mount Vernon, and his female passenger, 21-year-old Reagan Jackson, of the East Bronx.

Both face 11 counts of criminal possession of weapons.

Neighbors said on Saturday that they were not shocked to hear this happened in their area.

“I mean I don’t feel surprised," said resident Jessica Veras.

“I mean it’s New York city, what can I say?” neighbor Shawntay Williams said.

Residents said, however, more should be done when it comes to public safety.

“You’re not safe to even go to the store, take your children to school go to work,” said a resident who identified herself as Mrs. Collazo.
