A recent fundraiser challenge had an added fun bonus for kids at Central Valley Elementary School.
School administrators say two of their fourth grade teachers, Kathleen Mottola and Christen Macerone, came up with the idea of challenging students to bring in as many unopened cereal boxes as possible and then lining them up like dominos at the end of their food pantry fundraiser.
Nearly 900 boxes were donated, according to the Monroe-Woodbury Central School District.
The children were captured on district video last Thursday cheering and clapping as the boxes fell on top of each other in the school’s hallways.
The administration says the cereal was later distributed to local food pantries.
