An Orange County Jewish group celebrated their new location just in time for the Jewish new year.
Chabad of Orange County opened a 10,000-square-foot event space, education center and synagogue on Gilbert Street in Monroe this month - just in time for the Rosh Hashanah holiday.
The organization previously rented several locations since opening in 2004.
Rabbi Pesach Burston says they couldn’t be happier to finally have a place for their community members to call home.
“To celebrate the new year and the new building, there was a sense of community, accomplishment and having a place to call our own - it was very palbable,” said Burston.
Rabbi Burston says some construction is still being done but that they’re looking forward to celebrating Yom Kippur in the new building next week.
