A system will move into the Northeast and exit the region Thursday morning, bringing snow showers closer to the midnight hour with light snow falling overnight.
Gusty winds will pick up late in the overnight hours and last through much of the day on Thursday. Expect a frigid feeling day for New Year's Day.
There is a chance of a quick burst of snow along with gusty winds as the system is leaves in the morning hours.
Any accumulations would be minor but could lead to some slippery travel.
