Construction on nearly a dozen Bronx schools will be delayed and city officials are blaming the state.
The construction of many new schools are in jeopardy because of a feud between the city and Albany over education funding. The city claims there is not enough money to pay for the projects because Governor Pataki (R-NY) will not release funds into the school system.
Education officials say students are being denied a proper education because of the delays. They add there is currently a state budget surplus and urge the state to release money for schools.
