City officials: Teens playing with guns shot themselves at Newburgh playground

Two teenage boys accidentally shot themselves while playing with guns at a playground in Newburgh, according to city officials.

The incident occurred on Saturday night at the Mullins Apartment Complex.

The victims, aged 16 and 17, were transported to St. Luke's Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The playground area on the property was cordoned off with crime scene tape following the incident. Neighbors told News 12 that the public housing complex is typically known for its quiet atmosphere
