The ramp to the northbound New York Thruway is still closed for an inspection of a bridge over the Saw Mill River Parkway.
The Thruway Authority says it was closed Monday afternoon out of an abundance of caution based on evaluations by licensed bridge inspectors as part of routine inspections.
Engineers have been working overnight on a plan to reinforce the 70-year-old bridge.
Crews plan on installing temporary steel supports to allow the ramp to reopen until permanent repairs can be made.
The Thruway Authority apologized for the delays the closure has created.
