A man is facing drug charges following a police pursuit in Orange County last week.
New York State Police say they attempted to pull over a car on I-84 in Wawayanda but the vehicle continued driving, leading to a brief pursuit.
The car eventually stopped on Schutt Road in the Town of Wallkill.
The driver, Robert Flynn, 57, of Montgomery, was taken into custody. Troopers say they found an object that had been thrown from the vehicle during the pursuit. It was determined to contain about 0.8 grams of cocaine.
Flynn was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence, obstructing governmental administration and unlawfully fleeing a police officer. He was released and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Wawayanda Court next month.
