WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
High pressure has moved in and is sitting mainly right on top of the Hudson Valley today. Expect very light to calm winds, dry conditions and a chill in the air.
High pressure moves aside Friday, allowing a storm system to move into the region. Ahead of it's arrival, cloud cover will increase through the day.
Showers are likely to arrive very late in the night, lasting into the first half of Saturday.
A gradually clearing of the skies will follow afterwards and last for the rest of the weekend.
A few more chances for rain are possible next week, with potentially Tuesday, Wednesday and even Thanksgiving seeing the shower activity.
Thanksgiving is trending milder with a chance for morning rain and then drier conditions to follow.
