Rep. Marc Molinaro (R-19) is expressing optimism about reaching an agreement on the nation's spending before the end-of-the-week deadline.
Molinaro is stressing the deal must include border security and fiscal responsibility.
"It's critical that the House and House Republicans present something that respects taxpayers that presents to the Senate our best offer, which is we hope to drive down federal spending, secure the border and ensure that we respect the people paying the bills."
However, it is likely that Congress will not pass the 12 appropriation bills funding federal agencies before the start of the new fiscal year on Sunday.
