Work finally begins to rebuild an Orange County bridge that was badly damaged three years ago during Hurricane Irene.
Construction on the Forge Hill Bridge in New Windsor is set to begin immediately.
The bridge, which connects Routes 9W and 94, has been closed since 2011 when the Moodna Creek overflowed during the storm.
The project increases the size of the span from two lanes to three, and is expected to be finished by next summer.
