Police in Otisville say a lamp used to grow marijuana may be the cause of a damaging home fire early this morning.
Officials say the fire started in the basement of the home at 22 Mount Hope Road.
Fire officials say they found the marijuana plants in the basement within minutes of arriving on the scene.
Authorities say the home is owned by Vietnam veteran Dale Coughenour, who lives with his girlfriend.
They say Coughenour is in Texas visiting his son and that it was the girlfriend who smelled smoke and got help from a state trooper on patrol.
Police say so far, no arrests have been made.
