Cornwall police say a 35-year-old man is facing several charges after allegedly threatening officers, fleeing from a residence and later assaulting police during an Oct. 1 incident on Main Street.
Police say officers responded to the area of Main Street and Willow Avenue around 9 p.m. and encountered Joseph Keegan, of Cornwall, who became confrontational and threatened officers, including allegedly threatening to shoot them.
Additional police units were called to the scene.

Investigators say Keegan then went inside a residence and fled through the back of the property. Officers searched the area and later found him trying to re-enter the home.
Police say Keegan resisted arrest and assaulted officers before he was taken into custody.
Two Town of Cornwall police officers were injured during the incident. Both were taken for medical treatment and later released.
Keegan was charged with two counts of second-degree assault, along with resisting arrest, second-degree obstructing governmental administration, second-degree harassment and disorderly conduct.
Police say he was arraigned in Newburgh City Court and remanded to the Orange County Jail.
As of Monday, Keegan was not listed as an inmate in online Orange County Jail records. No mug shot was available.
Several neighboring law enforcement agencies assisted Cornwall police during the incident, including State Police and the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
