Westchester County Executive George Latimer and Volunteer New York! came together Thursday to announce the 14th annual 9/11 Serve and Remember Days of Service.
The event benefits local nonprofits and honors the lives lost and forever changed by the Sept. 11 terror attacks.
The community-wide Days of Service will be on Sept. 6 and 11 in New Rochelle and White Plains.
"For the past 14 years, Volunteer New York! has taken that national call to action and coordinated a local community wide action day on 9/11, providing our communities right here in Westschester, Putnam and Rockland counties the opportunity to join millions of individuals across the country as they honor the memory of those lost on 9/11," said Jeanette Gisber, executive director of Volunteer New York!
Volunteer New York! encourages those interested in volunteering for Days of Service by signing up at its website.
