Fire crews responded to a possible spill in the Byram River section of the Long Island Sound yesterday afternoon.
The Port Chester Fire Department said it was alerted by the U.S. Coast Guard after a visible substance was seen on the water's surface.
Rye police also responded to help determine the extent of the spill and locate its source.
Crews reported their findings to the Coast Guard for further evaluation.
