There is good news for the Hudson Valley as Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced Wednesday he's lifting the 11 p.m. curfew that has been in place for many businesses.
Right now, the curfew exists for casinos, theaters, bowling alleys, billiard halls, gyms and fitness centers.
Starting April 5, the curfew will be lifted, but not for food and drink establishments. There is also still a midnight curfew for catered events. Those curfews will be evaluated in late April.
Home Field Bowling Alley in Yonkers is celebrating this welcome news. Staff at the bowling alley says it's a step in the right direction.
In addition to the curfew, indoor fitness centers can expand capacity to 33% on March 22. That's as long as health screenings and contact information are provided at sign-in.
These lifted restrictions also include the rest of the five yellow zones in the state. In the Hudson Valley, this includes Newburgh and New Windsor. Those zone restrictions will be lifted on March 22.
