District Attorney William Grady says a Dutchess County grand jury voted on an indictment against defendants Roy Johnson Jr. and Devin Taylor - the two men accused in the shooting death of a father from Long Island.
Johnson
Jr., 35, and Devin Taylor, 26, are facing charges in the death of Paul Kutz, of
East Northport.
News
12 reported this week that Kutz was fatally struck by stray bullets when the
two men allegedly opened fire inside the Courtyard Marriott on the
morning of Sunday, Oct. 2.
The
53-year-old was staying at the hotel while visiting his son at Marist College's
Parents Weekend.
Authorities
say Johnson and Taylor were arguing and trying to shoot each other when Kutz
was struck. They added the incident was unprovoked.
According
to court documents, Johnson faces second-degree murder for intentionally
discharging his gun and having a loaded semi-automatic 9 mm gun. Taylor
faces a pair of weapons charges for allegedly having a P-22 and an
A-R style rifle that had a collapsible stock but no serial number.
Investigators
added they also found bomb making materials and instructions in one of the
suspects' rooms.
