A Delaware teen was sentenced to nine years to life in prison for the 2020 murder of a Yonkers man.

Back in Oct. 27, 2020, then 15-year-old Maliki Johnson used a pistol to shoot 27-year-old Javon Merrill in the chest.

Merrill was exiting a store on Ashnurton Avenue in Yonkers.

After the shooting, which was recorded on camera, the defendant ran off and sidecarded his sweatshirt.

Police recovered that sweatshirt, and linked the defendant with DNA evidence.

Johnson pleaded guilty back in March in connection to the shooting.
