Democrat John Hall hit the ground running in Mount Kisco Thursday, thanking voters who have given him an apparent Election Day victory in the 19th Congressional District race. Congresswoman Sue Kelly (R-Katonah) has not yet conceded the race and wants a recount. However, Hall says he's ready to join the new Democratic majority in Washington. Hall, a politician from Dutchess County, has some star power as a former singer and songwriter with the 70s band Orleans. While Hall acknowledges his fame did help him in the beginning with name recognition he's all about the issues now. Hall says he wants to pull U.S. troops out of Iraq and help a health care system he says is in crisis.
Hall says he is excited about having an opportunity to change things. He says he won?t forget his musical roots or the Orleans song that made him famous, ?Still the One.?
