Changes are coming in Mamaroneck just as parents were planning on speaking out at Tuesday night's Board of Education meeting about the school district's mask policy.

Starting Wednesday, students do not have to wear masks during outdoor play activities like recess.

Parents reached out to News 12 saying the policy made their kids suffer in high temperatures and humidity.

The district's reopening plan does allow for an outdoor mask mandate regardless of vaccination status if large numbers of unvaccinated students are gathering together.

Outdoor masks are still required during certain times like dropoff and dismissal, according to a district spokesperson.
