Two boaters were plucked from the icy waters of the Hudson River in Piermont Friday after their canoe overturned.
Officials say a wave probably hit the 16-foot canoe as the two men were fishing. Fortunately, the two were only in the cold water for a short time due to the quick response of emergency crews. Divers went in and rescued the men, who were about 100 yards away from the pier, from the river.
Officials say the two men were taken to Nyack Hospital. Both are being treated for slight hypothermia. One is also being treated for a facial injury.
