State police searched Echo Lake Tuesday for the body of Laura Garza who disappeared earlier in the month.
Officials say six divers worked through a single hole in the ice at Echo Lake, which sits on the border of Goshen and New Hampton. So far divers found a shotgun, which officials say is unrelated to the investigation.
The Brooklyn woman was last seen Dec. 3 in a Manhattan nightclub with Michael Mele, a convicted sex offender from the Town of Wallkill. Since Garza's disappearance, police have been looking for her body near Mele's Wallkill apartment. Their most recent search for Garza was last week on Echo Lake Road.
Mele has not been charged in the woman's disappearance.
