Documents from 2001 suggests that New York City officials had concerns about the air quality in Ground Zero after 9/11.

The memo warned that 35,000 people could sue the city after 9/11 due to health officials telling people to come back to Ground Zero either too soon or too late. Back then, people were told that the air was safe.

This September will mark 25 years since the attack at World Trade Center.

News 12 has reached out to the City for a comment on the documents and are waiting for a response.
