Rescue Right had owed more than $150,000 in taxes to the town. The shelter needed to pay off $100,000 of its debt by Friday in order to keep the land.
Now, thanks to about 900 donors, the animals at Rescue Right can keep their home.
The owner says the shelter has struggled under the pandemic, with less clients using her kennel business, and she’s had no way to support the rescue efforts.
But with the help of a
GoFundMe page and some generous holiday spirit, they say they've been able to stay afloat.
