Downtown Brooklyn man arrested in Highbridge robbery, rape case

Authorities say 50-year-old Isaiah Jones, of Downtown Brooklyn, was identified as a suspect in the violent incident just over a week after the release of his sketch.

A man accused of robbing and sexually assaulting a woman in Highbridge was apprehended on Friday, according to police.

Authorities say 50-year-old Isaiah Jones, of Downtown Brooklyn, was identified as a suspect in the violent incident just over a week after the release of his sketch.

Police say he approached the 50-year-old victim inside a building near West 164th Street and Ogden Avenue around 7 p.m. on April 17.

He assaulted her before forcefully snatching around $50 and a yellow metal chain, according to investigators.

The charges against Jones include rape, sex abuse and sexually-motivated robbery.
