A man is facing charges after allegedly starting a police chase while illegally driving a utility task vehicle (UTV) in Dutchess County.
Red Hook Police Department officers saw someone illegally driving the vehicle on West Market Street this past Wednesday afternoon.
They tried to pull it over, but the driver fled. The UTV sped onto State Route 9-G heading southbound. It then fled into the Forest Park development and into the woods.
The next day, police found the vehicle and its driver, Dirk Depuy, 36, at a home in the town. Depuy was arrested and charged with unlawfully fleeing a police officer and reckless driving. He was released and is set to appear in court in the near future.
