A driver was killed early Friday morning during accident
involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle on I-87 in the Town of Ramapo.
State police say a truck collided with a car around 5 a.m.
on the northbound side of the New York State Thruway near Exit 14B, in the area
of mile marker 26.9. They did not say which driver died.
The truck went off the highway and rolled over. Police say
crews flipped the truck back onto its wheels and are clearing debris from the
roadway.
Traffic was backed up for miles into the late afternoon as
state police reconstructed the fatal accident.
There's still no word on the condition of the other driver
or if there are any other injuries.
