A female driver is in critical condition after a Jeep that was driving across an icy Lake Mahopac broke through the ice and became fully submerged.
The Town of Carmel Police Department says it received multiple calls about the incident at 5:45 p.m.
The Mahopac Falls Fire Department, police and EMS extricated the driver.
She was taken to the hospital where she was in critical condition as of Monday night.
