An Eastchester business is without heat after unknowingly having had their gas shut off since the spring.
Paul and Marcia Miller, owners of Hoblin Locksmiths, told News 12 they are concerned about the business' future because of the dilemma.
"I have no heat in a business where you're kind of using your fingers is a thing,” said Paul Miller.
Miller wasn’t aware there was no heat until temperatures dropped.
"It would blow air, that's the easy part, but no heat,” he added.
Miller says the landlord went to check their meter and was told it was locked because it was linked to work Con Edison did on the street back in the spring, when they cut off gas to a stretch of businesses. No one had been in the store and the Miller's missed the memo.
"No hangtag on the door, no information, no phone call, nothing,” he said.
Con Edison told Miller he needs to get an integrity check in order to get it back on since it's been off for months. The check was quoted to be $4,000 to $6,000.
