EMS workers to be part of first group of people receiving COVID-19 vaccine in NY

First responders are part of the group that will be receiving the COVID-19 vaccine first in the state of New York.
Empress EMS Cpt. AJ Briones says he would get it. Other staffers at Empress EMS in Yonkers say they're gearing up for their chance at the new layer of defense against coronavirus.
They say it's crucial, considering they're the first point of contact with medical emergencies.
Employees say they don't always know what their walking into during a call despite pre-screening people over the phone.
They say they're still waiting to find out when exactly they will be offered the vaccine.
