Westchester County Executive George Latimer touted his administration's successes and plans for the future in his sixth State of the County address.
Latimer discussed improvements made under his leadership and plans for the future of Westchester County.
One of the key highlights of his address was the decline in crime rates throughout the county.
New reporting shared by Latimer saw a decrease in total index crime down 11%, violent crime down 20% and murder down more than 50%.
"In Westchester County, our commitment to combating crime is unwavering and realizing the importance of this mission, I have considerably increased funding for the Westchester County Department of Public Safety," Latimer said.
Latimer added that the decline comes down to good police work and community connections.
