The front of a Bronx supermarket came crashing down onto the sidewalk during business hours Monday.
No one was injured when the façade of the Associated Supermarket on Laconia Avenue collapsed. Those inside the store when the front came down were evacuated through the back of the building. Fire officials say they are not sure why the collapse happened, but believe the heat may have had something to do with it.
Officials say the supermarket will remain closed until the buildings department evaluates its safety.
