A tragic crash in North Carolina has left a family with ties to Orange County grieving the loss of three loved ones—including a 7-year-old girl.

Loved ones identified the victims as Anastasia "Tasia" Zervakis, her daughter Gisele Beniquez, and Gisele's father, Eddie Beniquez. The family had been traveling from Florida to visit relatives in the Middletown, New York area. The family lived in Florida.

According to a local news report, the fatal head-on crash happened Saturday, March 14, on I-95 in Robeson County. Authorities say charges are pending against the other driver involved.

In a fundraiser, one organizer described Gisele as a "precious" young girl, while another wrote that the family is mourning the loss of a beloved daughter, mother and father. As they grieve, support has been far-reaching across New York and Florida. Online fundraisers have raised tens of thousands of dollars to help cover funeral and memorial expenses, travel costs and other immediate needs.

Funeral arrangements have not yet been finalized.
