Five people face federal charges tonight for a smoke shop. Shoot out that left two people dead in Mount Vernon. This week news twelve's Jonathan Gordon joins us from the federal courthouse in White Plains where those suspects were in court today. Jonathan, what can you tell us? According to the criminal complaint, an informant told investigators that the group had planned to steal as much as $8 million as well as 6 kg of cocaine to eventually sell from the warehouse. And that is when things got out of hand released images from the US Attorney's office show the scene outside 137 South Fifth Avenue in Mount Vernon around midnight on Tuesday. Prosecutors said a group of 10 to 15 people ambushed two customers and workers at this warehouse that sold unlicensed marijuana and nicotine products range from product you would find in the smoke shop. Two people were killed in the shootout that followed. One suspect died at the scene and a warehouse worker died at a local hospital. They was waiting for the coroner and the coroner came and then they took the body out. Mount Vernon. Police recovered an ar 15, 4 shell casings and 39 millimeter shell casings at the warehouse. On Tuesday night, police tracked the suspects in a van using the attempted robbery back to an apartment complex in the Bronx. That night, police pulled over three cars and arrested the five defendants. A police pursuit led to a massive search near Fordham University. That night. Several people including the suspected gunman only identified by the FBI as Marcos are still on the loose. 23 year old Hilario Contreras, 25 year old Jerp Diaz Feliz, 23 year old Joan Diaz Feliz, 35 year old Victor Jimenez and 26 year old Joseph Perez are all charged with murder conspiracy to commit robbery and illegal weapons possession. This investigation is far from over. Police are still looking for as many as 10 additional suspects and that search continues tonight at the federal courthouse in White Plains, Jonathan Gordon.

And we begin tonight in the city of Mount Vernon where police continue to investigate a double fatal shooting. In the early hours of this morning news, 12 Jonathan Gordon is bringing us the very latest on this. Jonathan. You're on the scene, what are you seeing and what are you learning right now? Police and detectives still here at 137 South Fifth Avenue in Mount Vernon. As this investigation into this double fatal shooting continues into the evening. Several neighbors have told us throughout the afternoon that they heard the gunshots. Even some of them said they saw at least one body bag being taken out of this building as we continue to collect more details about exactly what happened. What we do know from police is that they responded here around 1215 this morning. Just after midnight, four reports of shots fired. First responders found two victims with gunshot wounds here, one died at the scene while the other died at Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital. Both of their identities are being withheld until their families can be notified. Neighbors say that this is a building that late at night. People have known to gather not a place that a lot of people in the general neighborhood come at, come together and be at. So they were maybe not surprised that something happened at this building, but they say that they believe it may have started with some type of dispute inside of the building. And residents tell us that they are upset that two people were killed in their neighborhood. Too much wrong thing going on in the neighborhood, not just the neighborhood all over the world. I just want peace and police have still not said if they have any suspects in custody, need any arrests. Anyone they're looking for have not told us if they have recovered any weapons or about a possible motive for the shooting.
