The FDA is warning that potentially contaminated raw oysters could be linked to a norovirus outbreak.
The norovirus is one of the highly contagious viruses responsible for the stomach flu.
Officials say the raw oysters from British Columbia were distributed to restaurants and retailers in at least thirteen states, including in New York.
The most common symptoms of norovirus are diarrhea, vomiting, nausea, and stomach pain.
Symptoms usually develop 12 to 48 hours after being exposed to the virus.
