A house fire was brought under control Tuesday afternoon in Poughkeepsie.

The flames started at a home on South Cherry Street.

The Arlington Fire Department assisted Poughkeepsie firefighters as they worked to contain the blaze.

Crews were working to learn whether anyone was injured and to determine a possible cause.
